Quick guide on connecting and setting up your VXDIAG device, including USB, Ethernet, and WiFi options, with step-by-step driver installation and configuration.

 

Before using the device, the hardware must be correctly connected. The VXDIAG device can be connected in three ways:

  • USB connection
  • Ethernet cable connection
  • WiFi connection

Device Connection Methods 

 

I. VXDIAG USB/network cable connection

 

  1. VXDIAG USB/Ethernet Connection
    Connect the vehicle side through the OBD-II diagnostic cable to the vehicle, and connect the PC side through the USB communication cable/Ethernet cable to the PC.

    After correctly connecting the hardware, the device's indicator lights will flash sequentially, and finally, the power indicator light will remain solid.

    Additionally, the device will emit a beep as an alert.

Installation Steps

 

  1. Install USB Driver for Windows 7/8/8.1/10
    When connecting the USB cable to the PC for the first time, Windows will prompt that new hardware has been found and will automatically complete the driver installation.

  2. Install USB Driver for Windows XP
    When connecting the USB cable to the PC for the first time, Windows will prompt that new hardware has been found:

  3. Follow the steps to complete the driver installation:

    • Select "No, not this time" and click [Next] to continue.

    • Select "Install the software automatically" and click [Next] to continue.

    • In the hardware installation dialog, click [Continue Anyway].

    • Complete the "Found New Hardware" wizard and click [Finish] to continue.

    • A second "Found New Hardware" wizard will appear; follow the same installation method as above.
    • After successfully installing the USB driver, the PC indicator light will start flashing.

    • After USB driver is successfully installed, PC LED will flashing.

  4. Run the VX Manager Program:

    • Go to the [Device Management] tab and click [Device Configuration].
    • Choose the connection method as [Auto] and click [Save].
    • Restart the VX Manager program.

  5. Test if the device is correctly connected to the computer:

    • Connect the VXDIAG device to the computer and start the VX Manager software.
    • Click [Device Management] -> [Device Information].
    • If the serial number, version, name, and other information of the VXDIAG device are correctly displayed, the device is properly connected to the computer.

II. VXDIAG WiFi Connection

 

How to Set Up VXDIAG VCX NANO WIFI?

To connect the VXDIAG device to your PC via WiFi, follow these steps:

  1. Connect the Device to the Vehicle:

    • Use the OBD-II diagnostic cable to connect the VXDIAG device to the vehicle.
    • Ensure the device is powered by the vehicle and is functioning properly.
  2. Search for the WiFi Network:

    • On your PC, search for the wireless network named with "VCX-WiFi."
    • Select [Auto-connect] and click [Connect]. The default WiFi password is 12345678.

  3. Set IP Address:

    • After connecting to the "VCX-WiFi" network, ensure your PC is set to automatically obtain an IP address.

  4. Configure the VX Manager:

    • Run the VX Manager software on your PC.
    • Go to the [Device Management] tab, then click on [Device Configuration].
    • Select [WLAN] as the connection type, and click [Save].

  5. Reconnect to the Device:

    • Restart the VX Manager software.
    • Your PC should now be connected to the VXDIAG device via WiFi.

Successful Connection: Once correctly connected, you can perform authorization updates, firmware updates, and install OEM drivers. In Windows Network Connections, you should see the wireless network information after the connection is established.

III. Device Connection Check

 

To verify the connection, open the VX Manager software. If the serial number, version, and name of the VCX device are displayed correctly, the connection is successful.

IV. Connection Configuration

 

The default connection type in VX Manager is set to AUTO, which automatically detects all connection methods. Generally, no changes are needed. If necessary, you can modify the connection type in the [Device Management] -> [Device Configuration] interface.

V. IP Address Modification

 

IP Address Modification: if there is an IP conflict between the VCX device and the router during remote diagnostics, you can modify the device’s IP address.
