Background:
Four years ago, one of our users purchased a VXDIAG VCX NANO for GM device, which worked very well at the time. However, the user hadn’t used it for more than two years. When trying to use it again, they encountered an issue.
Problem:
He told us:
"I just tried to connect to a GM vehicle, but it keeps saying I need to update my license in VX Manager. When I try, it says it's invalid and to contact the factory."
The user also asked us:
"How can I check to see if my NANO serial number has a license?"
The user suspected that the issue was related to the license expiration and inquired whether they needed to purchase a new GM license or a new VCX NANO for GM device.
As the official VXDIAG support team, we responded:
"You don’t need to check if the device has a license. Since your device was purchased a while ago, if it worked fine before, it is unlikely that the license has expired."
Our licenses are permanent and remain valid.
Solution to this issue:
- Uninstall the existing VX Manager software.
- Download the latest version of VX Manager (V1.8.9.0601) from our official website.
- Click "Firmware Update" within VX Manager.
This should resolve the issue.
User Feedback:
"Yes, it works. lol"
