How to enable the Balance and Fader menu on a Mercedes-Benz vehicle:
Vehicle example: 2020 Mercedes-Benz Cargo equipped with 7″ MBUX system
Required Tools:
- Actia Ecom / VXDIAG VCX SE Benz or OEM C6 VCI
- DTS Monaco 9.02
Note: VXDIAG does not include the DTS 9 software. You need to purchase the license separately.
Steps:
First, you need to bypass the Security Access firewall:
Open the DTS BR907 project.
Do not perform an ECU update.
Connect to the BCMFA2 ECU:
Right-click and select New Tab for Logical Link.

Go to the Diagnosis tab.
Select BCMFA2.
Session: [10 03] Extended Start.
Click Transmit.
Execute the generic task: Security Access Level 37:
Click Transmit.

Now you should have write access and can proceed with enabling the Balance and Fader menu.
Navigate to the VarCode tab.
ECU: HU6.
Click the Connect button.
Domain: [041] Audio Handling Write.
Locate the row labeled Balance Fader Menu.
Double-click on the current value, which should be "off".
Select On.
Apply the coding.

Next, you need to perform a hard reset of the ECU:
Go to the Diagnosis tab.
Select BCMFA2.
Perform [11 01] Hard Reset.
Click Transmit.

That's it! You can now access the Balance and Fader menu through System -> Audio -> Entertainment -> Balance and Fader settings.
