Install the New ECM: Connect the new ECM, ensuring all pins and connectors are securely attached.
Update the VXDIAG Firmware: Before connecting the VXDIAG device to the vehicle, open the VX Manager software and check for any firmware updates. Install any updates if available.

Connect the VXDIAG device: Plug the VXDIAG device into your laptop and the vehicle’s OBDII port. Launch GM SPS2 and log into Techline Connect.
Enter Vehicle Information: Enter the VIN of your Chevy Malibu. The system will automatically detect the vehicle model and year. Select the appropriate options and proceed.

So were going to tell it to override and use the VIN number that we actually entered which is the correct VIN number of this vehicle.
We need to select the fuel system tab. You need to actually manually select if it is not lit up.
There was a fuel pump upgrade for some vehicle that looks like that were used as taxis in the Las Vegas area that had a different modified fuel pump.
This vehicle is going to most likely be the OEM so were going to leave that as the OEM and hit next and then were going to tell the start programming.
Program the New ECM: Select the ECM to be programmed and begin the reprogramming process. It's going to download the files from the server and then its going to start actually write to the vehicle. The process will take around 15-20 minutes. Be patient and do not disconnect the device during this time.

Complete the Learning Procedure: After reprogramming, the vehicle’s theft deterrent system will need to be learned. Follow the on-screen instructions in the Techline Connect interface to complete this step.
