Problem Description:
One of our customers had issues updating the VXDIAG for Benz C6 DoIP VCI firmware. When trying to update the firmware, it displayed the error message: "Connect device error: Ping failed." VX Manager could not detect the C6 VCI (No device found).
Solution:
The "Ping failed" error is usually related to the network.
A technician from vxdiag.com checked via TeamViewer and found that the customer manually set the wrong IP address, which was for the C4 SDConnect.
VXDIAG Benz C6 will automatically set IP address. Don’t need to change/set IP manually !!!
Delete the incorrect IP address.
After completing this, the device was successfully connected.
Another:
If the IP is correct but there is no network connection, try the following steps:
- Disconnect the device
- Unplug the OBD connector
- Change the USB port
- Reconnect the device via USB only
