I. How to change the device's IP address?
The VCX-DoIP device functions as a vehicle gateway when connected to a vehicle. The default gateway IP address of the device is set to 192.168.8.1.
During remote use with DoNet, the device needs to connect to the user's router. In some cases, the router's IP address may conflict with the VCX device's IP address. In such cases, you can modify the gateway IP address of the VCX device.
This document provides instructions on how to modify the device's IP address.
Ensure that the device and the computer are correctly connected before proceeding!!!
Steps to Modify the IP Address
-
Log in to the Device Management Page
- Open your browser, go to the device management page at 192.168.8.1, and log in.
-
Access Network Settings
- Navigate to Network -> Interface, and click on [Edit] for the LAN interface.
-
Modify the Network IP
- Change the IPv4 address as needed, then click [Save & Apply].
-
Update VX Manager Configuration
- After successfully changing the device's IP address, you must also update the connection settings in the VX Manager client management tool. Open Device Configuration, select [LAN], and change the IP address to match the newly assigned device IP. Click [Save] to apply the changes.
Note: Ensure that the device is properly connected. The management tool needs to be manually configured to the new IP address.
If you are using other connection methods such as WLAN or USB/LAN, you will also need to modify the corresponding IP addresses accordingly.
II. The device is connected to the computer, but the client indicates that it is not connected.
Issue Description
The device is connected to the computer via USB, but the VX MANAGER client cannot find the device. When checking the Network Adapter page, a device connection is shown, and the device IP is correct (192.168.8.* **).
Steps to Resolve
-
From the network connection view, confirm whether the network adapter is connected to the device.
-
In the VX Manager client, change the device connection mode to USBLAN. Save the settings and restart the client.
-
If the client is still not detecting the device after setting it to USBLAN, open the computer's Device Manager, and check if there is any issue with the network adapter's driver under the Network Adapters section. If there is an issue, uninstall the network adapter and refresh the Device Manager.
-
If the device is not found in the network adapter, client, or Device Manager, check if the computer’s Wi-Fi connection detects the device's Wi-Fi signal “DOIP-VCI-****”. If the signal is not detected, the device needs to be repaired.
