FAQs - VCX NANO for TOYOTA WIFI Version

      Enter keywords for answers:

      1. Question: After installing the software, when I activate Techstream, I get a notice saying I have a maximum of 29 connection attempts without an internet connection before software registration is required.
Answer: Hi, for this software, just run it with the patch. No registration needed.
      2. Question: Does this adapter support brake bleeding using cracked versions of Techstream Lite? If not, will it work with the TIS version?
Answer: Hi, the cracked version only supports offline diagnostics. If you want to perform brake bleeding, you'll need your own online subscription, as we don't provide online accounts.
      3. Question: Do I need to buy any licenses to use this VCX Nano, or can it work without a subscription?
Answer: Hi, our device is activated for Toyota and supports offline diagnostics, but it doesn't include any online subscriptions.
      4. Question: After installing the "Techstream V18.00.008 Software Download (with Patch)" from the link above, Techstream keeps asking for a new key. Is the v18 software and patch still working as of June 27, 2023?
Answer: Hi, you'll need to connect the device to your computer and run "Toyota Launcher" to open the software without activation. Using the patch will let it work continuously, and you can ignore the working date—it'll keep looping the date.
      5. Question: I switched to a new laptop and when I try to install, VXManager asks for an update when I connect the device. Is it safe to update? Also, I no longer have a license on my new laptop; all I get is error messages.
Answer: Hi, please download and install the new VX Manager v1.8.9.0601 from https://vxdiag.com/pages/quick-start-guide. Then use the new VX Manager to update the firmware and renew the license.
      6. Question: Does this adapter support 2022 Toyota models?
Answer: Hi, we haven't tested it on 2022 models yet. But based on V17 software, it should be supported. You'll need to test it yourself.
      7. Question: Hi, I have a VXDIAG NANO for TIS. Can I use this device to connect and program Honda vehicles?
Answer: Hi, sorry, the VXDIAG VCX Nano only supports one car brand and can't add others.
      8. Question: What's the best version of Windows to use with this and the cracked version of Techstream?
Answer: We recommend using Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
      9. Question: Does VXDIAG for Toyota TIS Techstream software support the ADAS system?
Answer: Hi, the VXDIAG engineers say it can support the ADAS system, but we haven't tested it ourselves. You might need to test it on your end.
      10. Question: I bought the NANO for Toyota, but Windows won't let me run the patch. It says it's a trojan and blocks the installation.
Answer: Hi, for the patch, please disable your antivirus software and Windows Defender first, as it's a cracked file, and it might get flagged as a trojan. Please try again.
      11. Question: I'm looking to buy the VXDIAG for Toyota/Lexus diagnostics. Which version is better and faster, the wired version or the WiFi version? I'm asking about data transfer between the adapter and the laptop.
Answer: Hi, thanks for your message. USB might be more stable. But if you get the WiFi version, it also supports USB connection, and the package comes with a USB cable.
      12. Question: Will this work on Windows 10 64-bit?
Answer: Hi, the engineers recommend using Windows 7 Pro 64-bit because the Techstream patch works more reliably with Windows 7. But some customers have succeeded with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. If you want, you can give it a try on Windows 10.
      13. Question: Does this device support cars from 1998? I’m using Techstream v7 and another adapter right now that works with that car, which I need it for the most.
Answer: Hi, this device only supports cars from 2000 and newer.
      14. Question: Is this device compatible with the Toyota 22-pin connector?
Answer: Hi, the device uses an OBD2 interface, so it only supports cars with a standard 16-pin OBD2 connector.
      15. Question: Can this device perform all the functions of the original equipment? Does it support all Toyota models? I'm really interested.
Answer: Hi, with the device and software, if you have an official online account, it can perform the same functions as the original equipment. It supports Toyota models from 2000-2024.
      16. Question: Can this device run Subaru SSM3? SSM3 is very similar to Toyota TIS, and I have both on my PC.
Answer: Hi, this device can only be used with Techstream. It can't run SSM3.
      17. Question: Hi, can I use this device to perform injector and fuel pump learning, or do I need another model? Thanks.
Answer: The special functions you mentioned require an official online account. You'll need to get that yourself.

The VCXNano is great for Techstream

I have two dongles: An OBDLinkMX+ for general use and a VCXNano for Techstream. The OBDLink is great for general diagnosis and lets me read all my modules except SRS. I can setup data monitoring on my phone or pair it to a headunit really easy while having some of the highest data transfer speeds of most dongles I could find. BlueDriver & Veepeak were close contenders but I am happy with my purchase. The VCXNano is great for Techstream because its wired or wireless connection and if I spent a little more I could get a universal multi vendor dongle. I originally ran it with an older Lenovo Thinkpad but recently loaded the VXDiag Suite to my surface tablet and its a way better experience or at least as much as it can be with TS. Getting TS up and running was a bit tricky but it sure beats using the cheaper dongles and cables everyone recommended to me before with 15 year old versions of TS.

      Awesome tool!!

Awesome tool for my made in India 2011 KUN51R NKMSYX 1KD-FTV 3.0L D4D Fortuner.

Honestly, I did not have much hope for this unit after trying 4 OBD dongles of various costs in the past.
Works a bloody charm, displays live engine load, MAF, coolant temps and even all the injector timing information!
That is almost the full feature set that a paid Techstream subscription offers, minus the Security addon for resetting keys etc.

      Thank you VXDIAG! Love it!

      It has good reviews

I have a wireless VXDIAG VCX Nano connector, here's what works for me. It is a bit expensive, but it has good reviews and if you buy the wireless version, you can connect the car to a computer in your garage and you don't have to sit in the car uncomfortably with a laptop.

Working pretty fast and well - faster than the cheaper ones

I got VCX nano wifi. Working pretty fast and well - faster than the cheaper ones, no glitches. I heard it's the best money/quality. Reactivate firewall and always use Toyota Launcher.exe in bin to launch Techstream - delete the original .exe and make a shortcut of the copied Toyota Launcher.exe . So far I was able to monitor live my brakes and to run general diagnostics. It works pretty fast; I tried the mini vci a bit and it was much slower and glitchy, every other third major thing I did it crashed.
