2025 Buick GL8 Firstland Not Connecting with VXDIAG VCX FD GM?

Recently, one of our customers encountered an issue where the VXDIAG VCX FD GM could not connect to the 2025 Buick GL8 Firstland, and GDS2 software failed to detect the vehicle information. After our engineer's inspection, it was found that the customer made two common mistakes:

  1. Installed the wrong VX Manager driver: When using VXDIAG VCX FD, the VX Manager Beta version must be installed, not other versions.

  2. Did not install the MDI2 driver: To connect properly, the MDI2 driver must be installed.

The solution is to first install the correct VX Manager Beta version and the MDI2 driver. Then, select the MDI2 device from the device manager to establish the connection.

It is important to note that the current GDS2 2024.05.08 software only supports models up to 2025, including Buick Enclave, Envista, LaCrosse, Regal, CT4, and CT5. The 2025 GL8 Firstland is not yet supported.

For diagnosing the 2025 Buick GL8 Firstland, it is recommended to use RDS3 or Techline Connect online software.

By installing the correct drivers and using the appropriate software, you can successfully perform diagnostics. If you encounter any other issues, feel free to contact us for assistance.
