I recently had an issue with my 2007 Cadillac CTS not starting. To solve it, I bought the VXDIAG VCX FD for GM device from vxdiag.com. Once it arrived, I followed some YouTube tutorials, used the Tech 2 software, and successfully updated my ECM through the ACDelco TDS SPS2 system.
At first, I was really worried about compatibility issues with the software and my computer, especially after reading some negative reviews online. But after following the Tech2Win and ACDelcoTDS guides, everything went smoothly without any problems.
To make sure everything worked properly, I used two laptops with fresh OS installs—one for the Tech2 software and the other for the VXDIAG drivers. I downloaded all the required software directly from the ACDelco website, and setting it up was pretty straightforward.
One thing worth mentioning is that ACDelco charges $45 for two years of programming services for a single vehicle. Including tax, I spent a total of $48 to program my ECM using the ACDelco software, which I found to be pretty reasonable, especially since the programming went off without a hitch.
I also highly recommend getting an OBD2 extension cable, as the device can hang down awkwardly when plugged in, making it harder to drive. I placed mine on the dashboard, where I could also easily see the communication lights.
All in all, the device has been running smoothly 99% of the time, and for the price, I really can't complain. Considering its value for money, I think this device is definitely worth recommending.
