2024.06 Xentry with VXDIAG VCX SE Benz: User Review and Hardware Tips

“I’ve been using the VXDIAG VCX SE every day for diagnosing Mercedes-Benz vehicles, and it’s been a great tool so far.

The device performs really well. If you get the higher-end hardware with the serial number starting with V94SE*, you can even add licenses for other brands. Passthru mode works across all devices.

VXDIAG VCX SE Benz and 2024.06 Xentry Review:

The C6 license is excellent, working seamlessly with Xentry and DTS Monaco 8.

It’s fast and works perfectly with various OEM software.

I’ve heard people say it doesn’t work with Openshell, but that’s not true. It’s fully compatible with both Xentry Openshell and Xentry Passthru.

I’ve been using it with Xentry Openshell, and it works flawlessly. It’s also easily configured to work with Vediamo and DTS Monaco 8/9.

I’ve had the device for a few weeks now, and I’m very happy with it. Any issues I’ve faced have mostly been software-related, not hardware. Plus, vxdiag.com has great customer support, and they accept PayPal, which is super convenient.

Using VXDIAG with Xentry is a lot more convenient than using multiple interfaces. Just last night, I updated Xentry to the 2024.06 version, and there were no issues at all with the VCX SE. While it doesn’t support older Mercedes models, it works incredibly fast with newer ones, especially if you’re using a decent laptop. That said, some older ECUs may not be readable with this interface.

I also successfully swapped out my head unit and activated the premium ambient lighting using this device. It worked perfectly with DTS 8.16 and 9, meeting all my needs. I always use it via USB connection.

If you run into any communication issues with the device, make sure to check your Windows firewall settings. I’ve found that tweaking Windows power options and adapter settings can also help resolve problems. Just a tip from my experience!

VXDIAG VCX SE works great with Xentry OpenShell XDOS 2024.06 on newer cars. It supports Ethernet, USB, and Wi-Fi connections, and the speed is impressive. Highly recommended.”
