from 1058 reviewsI have a 2014 Volkswagen Polo. I have two keys, and both work perfectly. They can unlock and lock the car with the remote, and start the car as well. Recently, my car battery died, so I had to disconnect it for about a week, which caused the car to lose power.
When I reconnected the new battery, neither of my remotes could operate the central locking. They wouldn't lock or unlock the car. When I pressed any button, there was no response, except for the red light occasionally flashing.
I tried the resynchronization method from the car manual, but it didn't work. I also replaced the batteries in both remotes, but that didn't help either. I tried different methods and watched YouTube videos to resynchronize the remotes, but nothing worked. The keys can still manually unlock the car, and both remotes can start the car, but they just can't lock or unlock it. I was told I might need to reprogram them with ODIS or VCDS. After doing a lot of research and seeing recommendations on YouTube, I decided to order VXDIAG, and it turned out to be a great device that solved my problem. Besides that, I also have a GM and a Ford, so I purchased the SE PRO, thinking it would solve everything once and for all.
I was really fed up with the Auto Start-Stop (ASS) feature on my 2020 Opel Insignia B. I know there's a button to turn it off, but the problem is..it resets every time I turn off the engine, so I have to manually disable it again. And I always forget, which drives me crazy!
To finally put an end to this, I bought a VXDIAG device and used it to permanently disable the start-stop function. I connected the device to the car, accessed the control unit, and simply turned off the feature in the software.
Can't believe such a simple fix took me so long to figure out! Totally recommend getting this device!
I have a W246 B200d convertible. At first, I used to turn off the auto start-stop feature, but now I actually use it when driving in the city. A lot of mechanics and car owners say it's bad for the engine's health and so on (maybe that was true when the feature first came out), but nowadays almost every new car comes with it. Honestly, the only real benefit of start-stop is for the environment. Because of the constant stopping and starting, both petrol and diesel engines end up using more fuel.
Plus, after a while, the starter motor gets overworked. So I just used the VXDIAG SE Benz to code it so the start-stop stays off by default. Super easy to use, shipping was fast, and I got the shipping confirmation within 4 hours.
A few months ago, I bought a VXDIAG PLUS 4-in-1 device and it worked really well! I live in Germany, but the shipping was super fast - I received the device on the fifth day after ordering.
I used it to replace the immobilizer control unit, recode the PCM, and reprogram all the keys for my Honda. Everything went smoothly.
Recently, I added PSA authorization, and the customer service was super responsive - they helped me get it done within one day!
Big thanks to the team!
I know the new devices come with fast Wi-Fi, but in this case, Im pretty old-schoolI always use a wired connection. If youve ever seen a control unit fail due to a Wi-Fi refresh process, that experience will be burned into your memory forever.
The original VCI is way too expensive (3,000 and up), and at least in my country, its hard to get. Some used or refurbished C6 units are more affordable (1,600 and up), but theyre still really pricey, and some dont come with a warranty or return option. The VCI C6 clone (around $450) is still a risk because returning it to China is nearly impossible, but at least youre not losing as much money if something goes wrong.
Heres my experience with VXDIAG so far:
Ive been running it with Xentry OpenShell version 09.2023 for about three months now, and compared to the C4, its more stable. I think if most users have the same needs as me, theyd eventually go with this device too.
I have a DCAN cable that I use with my old BMW, but it doesn't seem to work with other brands like GM or VW software. So, I bought the VXDIAG SE Pro, mainly for Volkswagen. I have ODIS-E v18.1.0, ODIS-S v23.0.1, and VCDS v24.5.0. With the VXDIAG device, I can diagnose and code VW cars right from my laptop.
As an auto repair shop owner, I recently bought and tested two J2534 Passthru devices: the VXDIAG VCX SE and the Scanmatik 2 Pro, to use with the Xentry Passthru software. Maybe my experience isnt the most objective, but heres my take:
Scanmatik 2 Pro:
The Scanmatik 2 Pro performs pretty well in some areas. It supports diagnostic software like DAS, Xentry, and Vediamo 4, but when it comes to older cars (especially those built before 2005), it doesnt always recognize them fully or sometimes not at all. For truck diagnostics, its not great either, especially with trucks that open through DASScanmatik 2 Pro completely fails there. When using newer versions of Xentry, the Scanmatik 2 Pro doesnt perform well with certain newer Mercedes models (like Xentry Cars 2024.09) and it even has compatibility issues with the SD Connect C4.
VXDIAG VCX SE:
On the other hand, I think the VXDIAG VCX SE is a more versatile device. It supports DoIP technology and the latest versions of Xentry software. Whether youre using Xentry Openshell or Passthru mode, the VXDIAG VCX SE runs smoothly. When diagnosing newer models (like the MB W167 2021), the VXDIAG VCX SE is really reliableit didnt have the login issues that I experienced with Scanmatik 2 Pro. In Passthru mode, the VXDIAG VCX SE worked perfectly, while the Scanmatik 2 Pro didnt work at all, and in some cases, Xentry Cars 2023.12 wouldnt even connect in Passthru mode.
It is fully compatible with both Xentry Passthru and Xentry OpenShell. The VXDIAG VCX SE Benz is noticeably faster than the J2534 devices I used before. Tested it on a W212 with Xentry Passthru, and it had no issues reading all modules. The health scan was super thorough, and the DTC code interpretation was way more accurate than third-party tools like AUTEL-none of those weird, misleading error codes.
The A/C system control is also more detailed. Tried the seven-way airflow test, and I could adjust legroom and body zones separately-something my previous tool couldn't do. Plus, it doesn't have that annoying AUTEL issue where the fresh air flap automatically closes after 30 minutes. So, the diagnostics are solid, and the MB fault codes are spot on-unlike generic scanners that sometimes misinterpret the data.
The seller offers real-time chat support and email responses within 24 hours, even on weekends. I was really impressed by this - it's rare to find such dedicated service. I'd highly recommend buying from VXDIAG's official website. Price isn't always the only factor; it's great to know you-ll have solid post-purchase support too.
