How to Resolve Xentry Error When Clearing Fault Codes on a 2012 Benz C250 with VXDIAG VCX SE for Benz
When performing quick tests and clearing fault codes on a 2012 Benz C250, some users may encounter an error in the Xentry diagnostic system. Recently, our user experienced an error message stating, "The control unit does not respond to queries from Xentry diagnostics," which often indicates an issue with software compatibility.
Problem Description
The user was using a VXDIAG VCX SE for Benz device to conduct a quick test and clear fault codes on their 2012 Benz C250. However, when attempting to clear the codes, Xentry displayed an error indicating that the "The control unit does not respond to the query from XENTRY Diagnosis", suggesting Xentry was unable to connect with the vehicle’s control unit.
Cause Analysis
After remote assistance with our VXDIAG technical support team, we confirmed that the device itself had no issues.
The root cause of the error lay in Xentry software not properly matching with C6, leading to the error message.
During troubleshooting, we found the user was using Xentry version 202212, while the VXDIAG device currently supports Xentry version 202409. Due to this version mismatch, the C6 communication protocol was not loaded correctly, causing the "control unit does not respond" error.
Solution
To resolve the issue, the user simply needs to switch to the Xentry version (202409) compatible with the VXDIAG device to avoid this error. Here is a summary of the steps:
- Uninstall the current version of Xentry software
- Install the supported Xentry version (202409)
- Reconnect the VXDIAG device and test again
By following these steps, users should be able to avoid compatibility issues and resolve the error.
