What are the differences between GDS2 and Tech2Win?
(What are GDS2 and Tech2Win?)
For GM owners, GDS2 and Tech2Win are not diagnostic tools that are required for all vehicle models; they are suited for different years and models of GM vehicles.
1. What vehicles does the Tech2Win cover?
Tech2Win: This is a simulator of the Tech2 tool, primarily used for GM vehicles manufactured between 1996 and 2013. For vehicles produced during this time, Tech2Win is an effective diagnostic tool, capable of handling diagnostics and programming for various modules, including body, engine, and electrical systems.
2. What vehicles does the GDS2 cover?
GDS2 (Global Diagnostic System 2): This is GM's latest diagnostic system, designed for vehicles from 2013 onwards. It offers more advanced features, supporting programming, configuration, and diagnostics across multiple modules. GDS2, with its updated technology, allows for deeper diagnostics, especially for electrical systems, powertrains, and other modules in modern vehicles.
Therefore, if you're a GM owner or professional technician:
- For older models (1996-2013), Tech2Win is an essential tool.
