Issue:
A customer from vxdiag.com encountered a problem while running the GM GDS2 software (version 2024.05.08) on Windows 10, where it failed to connect to the vehicle and reported a PC software installation error.
Some users on Windows 7 have experienced similar issues. We recommend switching to Windows 10, as GDS2 is not very compatible with Windows 7.
If you experience this error on Windows 10, it may be due to a missing engineering file.
Solution:
Download and install the GDS2 2024.05 software to resolve the issue.
