I did not need to upgrade win11home to win11pro on host machine (there also are plenty of headaches because of windows security warnings about different types of viruses). I ended up using virtual machine with not activated win11pro. I can read dtcs, do tests, but cannot clear dtcs: wonder if have to use host machine for that...
Hi there, thank you for sharing your experience. Please note that GM diagnostic software has specific system requirements, and this is not a limitation of the device itself.
GDS2 is officially recommended to run on Windows 10/11 Pro 64-bit, while Tech2Win has more specific requirements and is recommended to run on Windows 7 32-bit. Windows Home editions and virtual machine environments may cause installation, driver, or communication issues.

Great product connects well and is super fast but the only problem is the usb plug doesn't last very long and the cable becomes loose!! Should really be a dedicated hard wired cable to the device in my opinion
