MDI2 and GDS2

After watching some YouTube videos and doing some research, I found out that you need access to MDI2 and GDS2 to reset the car. There's a function to reset the Security HV DTC, and you have to run it to get the car moving. Otherwise, even if everything is fixed, you'll still have shifting issues.

That's when I found the VXDIAG device and tried it, and it worked great!

Experience: Fixing the Key and Service Mode Issues on a 2019 Chevy Bolt EV

Before purchasing this product, I was drawn to VXDIAG website because of the many positive reviews shared by others. I would like to share my experience fixing some issues on my 2019 Chevy Bolt EV. I bought the car as a salvage vehicle, and initially, I ran into several problems. It wouldn't start, I couldn't get into service mode, and the key wouldn't reprogram.

Here is what happened:
At first, the car didn't have a 12V battery, and the voltage was only 3V. After replacing the battery, the dashboard lit up, and I could control the radio and the door locks with physical buttons, but the key wasn't responding. I kept getting the error message saying no remote key detected. I tried manually locking and unlocking the doors to reset the key's anti-theft system, but it didn't work because it was the wrong key. Also, I couldn't get the car into service mode, which is crucial for reprogramming the key.

I decided to use the VXDIAG VCX Nano and GDS2 software. Initially, it went smoothly. I cleared several fault codes. However, I still couldn't get the car into service mode no matter what I tried. However, the security system activated, and the horn started honking, so I had to disconnect the battery and temporarily stop the process.

After more adjustments, I uninstalled and reinstalled Java, which allowed me to run SPS and start the key learning process. This time, the car finally came back to life! The wipers worked, I could control the windows, and the brake lights turned on. Although programming still didn't succeed, I felt like I was getting closer.

Finally, the OEM replacement key arrived. That was the real issue. Once I had the correct key, I successfully programmed it via SPS. Now the car starts, charges normally, and I can enter service mode and clear fault codes. Great job, VXDIAG!

For anyone else facing similar problems, my advice is to stay patient and persistent. Make sure to use the right tools. I highly recommend the VXDIAG VCX Nano and purchasing from the official VXDIAG website. I have a lot of online shopping experience, and sometimes price is not the only consideration. Also, DO NOT skimp on OEM parts, especially the key. It will save you a lot of time and hassle.

VXDIAG VCX Nano for Holden Commodore VF (2013 - 2017)

I bought the VXDIAG VCX Nano for my VF Holden Commodore about a month ago, and I have to say, the device is fantastic. I got it from the official website, and while the setup was a bit tricky at first, I havve got enough experience with repairs to get everything up and running smoothly.

I used it mainly to fix a few issues, like a faulty injector, the airbag light, and the steering column lock. One of the first things I did was update the Mylink system firmware, which was super easy. I just downloaded the update through the TIS2WEB Java interface, put it on a USB drive, plugged it into the Mylink system, and the update went through without any problems. Then I quickly reprogrammed the radio module with just a few clicks.

I'm running it on Windows 10, and GDS2 worked perfectly fine. Tech 2 does NOT work on GDS2 vehicles, but that wasnot an issue for me. Everything worked as expected - I did EPB calibration, reset the steering angle, and controlled BCM functions like unlocking the trunk and locking/unlocking doors. I have seen the brake bleed option but haven't tried it yet.

For reprogramming, you do need a TDS subscription, but once that's taken care of, everything runs smoothly. The device works great on both Windows 7 and Windows 10, and there's no need for a virtual machine, it just connects to the car with no issues.

VCX-FD Worth Getting Through Any Software Issues

I had a few problems with software at first, but this is not unusual with any software; there are so many variations in peoples computer hardware and software set-ups that can affect a programme.
The VXDIAG tech support team found the cause though. They are very polite and professional. Email assistance cured my Windows 10 installation for GDS2 and for my Windows 7 installation (for Tech2Win), they offered me remote assistance and they found the cause very quickly.
I have now tested my VCX-FD on my 2007 GMC vehicle and the Tech2Win software now works flawlessly with this J2534 device.
It's well worth getting through a few minor software issues to get a J2534 device that does everything that a much more expensive tool can do and will keep working with newer cars in the future.
I will be trying online SPS programming in the near future, using an ACDelco TDS subscription, and it's good to know that the VCX-FD specifications show that the VCX-FD is more powerful than most comparative tools and will easily allow programming modules much faster than the old Tech2 and many others.
